Conditions We Treat
Acid Reflux
Whether it’s from overeating or drinking too much coffee, suffering from occasional acid reflux is common. However, if you experience acid reflux on a regular basis, you may have a more chronic condition that can lead to other health issues. At Circle City GI our gastroenterologists use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to help you get relief from acid reflux and prevent future health complications. Call the office closest to you. Abdominal Pain
There’s no need to live with any digestive problem that causes you discomfort. Many people suffer with abdominal pain for months or even years before seeking medical help. The experienced team of gastroenterologists at Circle City GI offers many diagnostic tools to find and treat the root cause of your abdominal pain. Barrett’s Esophagus
Barrett’s esophagus is a condition in which the lining of the esophagus changes, becoming more like the lining of the small intestine rather than the esophagus. This occurs in the area where the esophagus is joined to the stomach. It is believed that the main reason that Barrett’s esophagus develops is because of chronic inflammation resulting from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Barrett’s esophagus is more common in people who have had GERD for a long period of time or who developed it at a young age. It is interesting that the frequency or the intensity of GERD symptoms, such as heartburn, does not affect the likelihood that someone will develop Barrett’s esophagus. Most patients with Barrett’s esophagus will not develop cancer. In some patients, however, a precancerous change in the tissue, called dysplasia, will develop. That precancerous change is more likely to develop into esophageal cancer. At the current time, a diagnosis of Barrett’s esophagus can only be made using endoscopy and detecting a change in the lining of the esophagus that can be confirmed by a biopsy of the tissue. The definitive diagnosis of Barrett’s esophagus requires biopsy confirmation of the change in the lining of the esophagus. Bloating
Bloating is a common complaint that may occur if you eat foods that cause gas. But if you experience bloating on a regular basis, it may be a symptom of an underlying health condition. At Circle City GI of the Inland Empire, with offices in Corona, Riverside, and Eastvale, California, the experienced team of board-certified gastroenterologists uses advanced diagnostic technology to identify the cause of your bloating and provide the right treatment. |
Celiac Disease
Celiac disease is a serious digestive condition that affects the lining of your small intestines. Though celiac disease affects less than 1% of the population in the United States, most people don’t know they have it. The board-certified gastroenterologists at Circle City GI use advanced tools and technology to diagnose celiac disease. Diarrhea
Loose, watery stools that occur more frequently than usual. Diarrhea is usually caused by a virus or, sometimes, contaminated food. Less frequently, it can be a sign of another disorder, such as inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome. Symptoms include frequent, loose, watery stools and belly pain. Most cases clear on their own. Some infections may need antibiotics. Hemorrhoids
Swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort and bleeding. Hemorrhoids are usually caused from straining during bowel movements, obesity, or pregnancy. Discomfort is a common symptom, especially during bowel movements or when sitting. Other symptoms include itching and bleeding. A high-fiber diet can be effective, along with stool softeners. In some cases, a medical procedure to remove the hemorrhoid may be needed to provide relief. Constipation
Constipation can strike every now and then and usually resolves on its own, but if it’s chronic, you may need intervention from the specialists at Circle City GI. Our team of expert gastroenterologists at offices in Corona, Eastvale and Riverside, California, evaluates your condition to be sure your constipation isn’t a sign of an underlying problem. The doctors can also offer you quick relief from constipation to relieve your discomfort. Call today for an appointment or use the online booking tool. |
EUS
Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) allows your doctor to examine your esophageal and stomach linings as well as the walls of your upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. The upper tract consists of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum; the lower tract includes your colon and rectum. EUS is also used to study other organs that are near the gastrointestinal tract, including the lungs, liver, gall bladder and pancreas. COLON CANCER SCREENING
In cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer deaths in American adults. But with more awareness and colon cancer screening, doctors can save thousands of lives every year. The highly skilled team of gastroenterologists at Circle City GI offers colon cancer screening using the “gold standard,” which is colonoscopy. A colonoscopy is an invaluable screening tool that allows your doctor to examine the lining of your colon for abnormalities. At Circle City GI in the Inland Empire, the team of expert gastroenterologists offers this routine procedure to people. If you’re due for a colonoscopy, call the nearest office to schedule an appointment. EGD
Upper endoscopy lets your doctor examine the lining of the upper part of your gastrointestinal tract, which includes the esophagus, stomach and duodenum (first portion of the small intestine). Your doctor will use a thin, flexible tube called an endoscope, which has its own lens and light source, and will view the images on a video monitor. ERCP
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, is a specialized technique used to study the bile ducts, pancreatic duct and gallbladder. Ducts are drainage routes; the drainage channels from the liver are called bile or biliary ducts. The pancreatic duct is the drainage channel from the pancreas. During ERCP, your doctor will pass an endoscope through your mouth, esophagus and stomach into the duodenum (first part of the small intestine). An endoscope is a thin, flexible tube that lets your doctor see inside your bowels. After your doctor sees the common opening to the ducts from the liver and pancreas, called the major duodenal papilla, your doctor will pass a narrow plastic tube called a catheter through the endoscope and into the ducts. Your doctor will inject a contrast material (dye) into the pancreatic or biliary ducts and will take X-rays. |
Hemorrhoid Treatment with the CRH O'Regan System
Circle City GI is now offering the CRH O’Regan System®. A simple, painless and effective way to treat hemorrhoids!
Hemorrhoids are nothing to be embarrassed about – in fact, about 50% of the population will suffer from them by the age of 50.
For many, ointments and creams will only mask symptoms to provide temporary relief. They do not address the root of the problem that is causing the pain, itching, bleeding, and overall discomfort.
If you’re serious about getting rid of hemorrhoids once and for all, it’s time to consider a definitive treatment.
The CRH O’Regan System®
The CRH O’Regan System® offers patients a painless, proven effective solution to the problems associated with hemorrhoids through a unique take on a procedure called hemorrhoid banding, or rubber band ligation.
Much less invasive than a surgical hemorrhoidectomy, hemorrhoid banding with the CRH O’Regan System®, is a simple treatment that can be performed in just minutes with little to no discomfort. There isn’t any prep or sedation and most patients are even able to return to work the same day.
How it WorksGentle suction is used to place a small rubber band at the base of the hemorrhoid in an area where there aren’t any nerve endings. After a few days, the hemorrhoid will begin to shrink and fall off – you probably won’t even notice when it does!
